In Pakistan there are about six kinds of writs which is in the nature of mandamus, certiorari, habeas corpus, quo warranto, prohibition and the writ for the enforcement of fundamental rights. It is pertinent to mention here that the said names of writs had been omitted from the Constitution of Pakistan sine there had been great debate about the definition and scope about the said writs. In the Constitution of the Pakistan 1962 a comprehensive definition was given and some restrictions was places on the issuance of writ by the High Courts of the Country.
