Under section 5 read with Schedule 5 of the Family Courts Act the Family court has the jurisdiction to adjudicate upon the case of divorce, maintenance of wife and child, custody of minor, jactitation of marriage, recover of dowry article and dower amount, gifts of bride and every dispute which arises from the written form of marriage i.e. nikah nama.
