Under section 498 of the Pakistan Penal Code if any person deprives a woman such person shall be punished with minimum imprisonment of five years and maximum punishment is ten years or fine of Rs. 10 lacs or both fine and imprisonment. A deprived woman can file complaint before the District & Sessions Judge and upon the assessment of the available evidence on record the Court shall issued warrant to the accused person.
